What was your goal when you originally signed up?
At first, my goal was just to come consistently. I had always preferred working out in the evenings prior to joining SteadFast, but with my work schedule at the time I knew I’d have to commit to morning classes. Once I adjusted to a new routine and began getting comfortable with all the new movements, my goal turned into beating my friend Spencer Scarvey (who was slightly responsible for my new obsession) in workouts.
How did you originally hear about us?
I first heard about SteadFast from my friend Spencer, who joined a few months before me.
What prompted you to seek us out?
I’d always been interested in CrossFit and knew I would love it, but I would have been too intimidated to try it out by myself. Thankfully Spencer broke that ice for me. When I discovered that the new “workout classes” she was attending were actually CrossFit, I was immediately in too. It didn’t take a lot of bribing, but after a free Saturday class and a month trial, there was no going back!
How do you feel about your future?
Excited! I’ve been here long enough now to experience that, no matter what season of life I’m in, CrossFit is adaptable to my needs. Whether I just need to move and create some mental space, or I’m focused and ready to take on new fitness challenges, I know this is something I’ll be able to stick with forever.
What have you liked best about working with us?
It’s so much fun! I’ve never kept up with a workout routine like I have at SteadFast, and I attribute that to the people and the programming. I never workout alone. I never get bored. I often feel challenged, but I know I have the resources to be successful and get that win for the day. The coaches are top-notch, and the other athletes are the best accountability and cheerleaders. When people tell me CrossFit is too hard or intimidating, I tell them I legitimately just feel like I’m going to play with my friends for an hour!
What would you say to anyone else who might be interested in starting at SteadFast?
If you have any interest in fitness at all, come try us out. Even if you don’t, come try us out. Know you’re walking into an incredibly supportive environment full of people who want you to succeed. You’ll benefit in ways you expect and in ways you don’t, and you for sure will be better for it. Looking back, I’m really not sure if I chose CrossFit or if CrossFit chose me. Either way, I’m so glad—and I’m so glad that landed me at SteadFast. One day you’ll say the same thing too!
