What was your goal when you originally signed up?

To find a CrossFit box with a great community and programming similar to what we had experienced in the past!! CrossFit (when we first started 5.5 years ago) seemed like a new fun way to get in the kind of shape I wanted to be in, without having to come up with my own gym routine…I wanted to be engaged and less bored. I liked the idea of fitting everything into an hour a day.

How did you originally hear about us?

I actively was looking for a box online.

What prompted you to seek us out?

I tried another box closer to my work when I first came to Savannah but didn’t really feel like the community or coaching was a good ‘fit’ for me. So I contacted SteadFast and from the first workout (which was only my husband Tony and I in a full show-down face to face with Brian coaching us) we knew it was the place for us.

How do you feel about your future?

Every year I do this I pick ONE of my weaknesses to work on. I love that my fitness and interests can change and evolve, that there are times when I can work more on gymnastics and other times when I will focus on strength while still trying to maintain a decent engine. I can see myself doing this until I die. I don’t want to quit. I want to keep going and feeling this good.

What have you liked best about working with us?

The community! CrossFit SteadFast was a great way to meet a group of like-minded people in a new city and now we have a group of great friends who genuinely care. I can’t say enough about what having that support and encouragement means. The coaches pay attention and push me when I need it, and so do the other members. They make me want to try as hard as I can to not let anyone down.

What would you say to anyone else who might be interested in starting at SteadFast?

Don’t think…just do. You will never be “fit enough” to start CrossFit. You actually GO to Crossfit to get fit. There really isn’t anything that can prepare you for what working out this way feels like. There are endless options and ways to adjust movements to make each workout suit you, personally, whether you are an extremely gifted athlete, or if you started out as a late 30’s person just trying to not succumb to the ravages of time, like me. Everyone will celebrate your wins with you, however small. It is normal to feel out of sorts and intimidated at first, but that will quickly pass, and it will begin to feel normal and you will understand that you made the right choice to just go for it! Oh, and listen to your coaches. They really do know what they are talking about…
